SECRET ASIAN MAN

 sam062606

The Nikkei View is proud to pleased to present Secret Asian Man, a weekly comic strip created by Tak Toyoshima, a not-so-secret Asian man. I'll change out the comic every week on Wednesdays.

You can read previous Secret Asian Man strips in the S.A.M. archives at IMDiversity.com's Asian American Village. You can also read about the origins of S.A.M. To buy S.A.M. stuff, check out BlackLava.com/sam.

Secret Asian Man is published in a number of publications and Web sites nationally (so yeah, I'm jumping on the bandwagon...) including the Chicago Tribune's RedEye, Nikkei West, AsianWeek/Asianweek.com, Asian-Nation.org and and komikwerks.com. Tak is collecting his past strips into a S.A.M. book in 2003, and he will be appearing at a comic convention.

Who's Tak? He's freelance illustrator and comic artist, Toyoshima was born and raised in N.Y.C's Tribeca district, and now lives with his beautiful wife Tracey in Boston, where he works for New England Comics on The Tick, publishes an original comic book called The Couch, and is Art Director at the Boston's Chinatown-based Shovel Magazine and Weekly Dig newspaper, where Secret Asian Man was born and appears weekly. You can even order Secret Asian Man stuff online!

Let me know what you think of S.A.M., and you can also e-mail Tak directly with your comments and questions.
