Japan relief efforts in Los Angeles should get a big boost next weekend from the all-star concert being organized by Asian American organizations including the Asian Bar Association and the Asian American Journalists Association. “A Thousand Hearts” promises to be a great show as well as hopefully, a great fundraiser.

WHY: 100 percent of of the net proceeds will go directly to the hardest-hit prefectures of Fukushima, Iwate and Miyagi.
PASADENA – Grammy-nominated band Hiroshima, a jazz and pop band, will headline the
“Thousand Hearts” Japan earthquake relief concert at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 7 p.m. There will also be an art fair from 4 to 7 p.m. All proceeds go to Japan earthquake relief.
Featured entertainers will include:
HIROSHIMA (jazz band) – Nominated for a Grammy last year, Hiroshima is an American jazz/ fusion smooth jazz band. Their latest album Legacy is a celebration of their 30th year in the recording industry.
QUEST CREW (dance group) – Multi-talented and charismatic Quest Crew entertained their way into MTV viewer’s homes and hearts to become America’s best dance crew. With a high energy mix of mind-blowing tricks and innovative choreography, Quest Crew continues to bring audiences to their feet while on stage or on the screen.
LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS (actor) – Phillps is an American film, television, and stage actor. He earned a supporting actor Golden Globe Award nomination for his role in Stand and Deliver and a Tony Award nomination for his role in The King and I.
TIA CARRERA (singer, actress) – Carrera is a two-time Grammy Award-winning singer. In 2011, she won a Grammy Award for her album “Huana Ke Aloha.†In 2009, she also won a Grammy for her album “Ikena.â€
